A new prose poem in process–
Names of the Sea
Only viewed by gods, particles, daemon and sun rays. The blinking of an eye. Concave spaces writ large. Bowls built for the gods. Seas named by those who are asleep: the sea of air, the sea of long hallways, the sea of ghost children. Seas named by volcanic eruption: sea of the brazen, sea of cinnamon, sea of rapture. Seas named by other planets: the sea of the deadpan, the sea of the timid, the sea of fragility. The planets have their own parched landscape, and thirst to look out at the stars. Seas named by solar flares that reach out for moisture: the sea of the truculent, the sea of the melancholy, sea of corsage and antique veils. Seas named by old men: the sea of damage, the sea of will power, the sea of accepting darkness, of foreignness, of depth, and the black of the pupil in your own eye. The seas conjunct, and say there has to be a place for the water to go, to rest, there has to be a hand to hold.
